The details · Goodreads

The numbers can show when an author grew, never why.

That part you have to go find.

Notebook · NB-002 · Guide

“I look at what the author did then: a sequel, a sale, a newsletter, a moment on TikTok.”

Then I go find out why

What I found

Once I've narrowed an author's growth to one window, "I look at what the author did then: a sequel, a sale, a newsletter, a moment on TikTok." But "a release that lines up with growth is worth a look, nothing more." Ratings aren't sales, and the Internet Archive can't see Kindle Unlimited reads, ad spend or a mailing list.

So do this

Use the 'when' to ask better questions: check what she released, ran or announced then, before you copy one move.
