More than 9 in 10 of Game Changer's ratings came after the show.
Today's numbers can't tell you how an author got there.

What I found
Take a case where everyone knows the answer. Game Changer shows 259,119 ratings in October 2026, so it looks like it was always a hit. A saved copy from July 2025 shows 15,546. More than 9 in 10 of its ratings arrived after the Heated Rivalry show premiered in November 2025. Today's page can't show you that. The old copies can.
So do this
Before you measure your book against someone else's, look up her old Goodreads pages on the Wayback Machine.
Keep in mind
This example was picked because the cause is obvious. For most authors it won't be, and that's when the record matters most.
